One month into the new year, I've been doing pretty well on my 1000 mile goal. The progress gets logged into my dailymile ticker on the side of the blog. 116 miles is great. I know there are some trips coming up so I needed to take advantage of a full month in Bermuda to help get the tally up. Today, I tried to pass two girls on the sidewalk when I tripped on a huge rock and ate it. I will not take a picture of my forearm and shin where my body slid after the fall. Though not too bloody, it is a pretty red road rash. It stings and it is sore. I am sure it will hurt like the dickens tomorrow afternoon on my next run.
Not sure how accurate this blurb is but makes me feel good about the running. And while I am not trying to lose 52 lbs this year, is an interesting idea. I think it also includes a lot of dieting. And one thing I have learned this month, is that while I am stubborn as hell and can make myself run - I am not the best dieter. I have stuck out the no cheese and no meat (except occasional fish) all month. But as a reward to myself, I haven't cut down any carbs. And while I haven't weighed myself (because I am a big scaredy cat) I don't really know if I have lost any weight this year so far.
I've still got a few months to go until bathing suit season, so I am going to stick to my guns. Maybe after another month or two, I'll see some results.
