Don't get me wrong. I love my kindle. I've read quite a few books on it and it is great to take on a trip. It doesn't weigh much and it can carry a lot of books. So, instead of lugging around a couple of books in your bag. This does all the work.
My annoyance is with how it gets formatted for the screen. I realize there are old people who use these and increase the font so they can see the text. Maybe that is why the put a percentage finished on the bottom instead of page numbers. I want page numbers.
I am reading the third installment in the Song of Ice and Fire series (better know by the HBO series named after the first book, the Game of Thrones series.) I was warned it was a long book. But, I bought it on my kindle so I didn't know how long. I've a pretty good idea it is long considering the amount I've read and how little the percentage has increased. But, it still isn't totally clear. I ended up googling the book to figure out the length - which is over 1,000 pages! That is a long book. As of last night, I think I am about 80% finished so it should be completed by this weekend.
The 4th and 5th books have been published but I think I am going to take a little break. The first two books were long but not 1,000 pages each. I've got a stack of real books to work on. I think I'll try to make a dent on those for a while. Maybe pick up the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy? Not sure. But summer is here in Bermuda. It has been here for weeks, so the summer reading should be well on its way.
